WHEDco’s full-day program offers a nurturing environment that supports children to develop confidence, think creatively, analyze information and communicate effectively. Each year, 100% of four-year-old students graduate prepared for kindergarten, helping ensure that they begin their school careers ready to succeed.
“High-quality early childhood programs are great economic and social equalizers… Quality early childhood programs for disadvantaged children more than pay for themselves in better education, health and economic outcomes.”
-The New York Times

- Language & Literacy
- Physical Development & Health
- Approaches to Learning
- Social-Emotional Development
- Cognition & General Knowledge
Parent Engagement
WHEDco works to ensure that the progress made inside the classroom each week is supported and nourished at home. Through workshops and activities for parents and guardians, including ESL Family Literacy classes, we engage and empower them to become more active in their children’s educations. We also provide Family Support and Counseling Services to ensure that families have the resources they need to succeed.
Diversity in the Classroom
Many of the students enrolled in the Center each year are first generation Americans. Their parents’ countries of origin include: Bangladesh , Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Honduras, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Puerto Rico, Senegal, and other countries in West Africa.
