Bronx Summer Fest – Volunteer Today!

Flyer for Bronx Summer Fest 2016

Where? Louis Niñé Blvd, between Southern Blvd. and Jennings St. in Crotona Park East, Bronx

When? 9:00am-6:00pm on Saturday, September 17th, and Saturday, September 24th

WHEDco seeks enthusiastic and committed individuals to serve as volunteers during our 5th Annual Bronx Summer Fest, to take place during two consecutive weekends at the end of September. Volunteers will assist WHEDco staff with event set up, breakdown, production, check-in, surveying of attendees, and general support during this exciting cultural event that attracts 300+ people. The event, featuring local musical performances, family fun activities, non-profit partners, and Bronx vendors, will also connect community members to cultural, economic, and educational resources. Bronx Summer Fest! is an annual event hosted by WHEDco as part of the Department of Transportation’s Weekend Walks series. This outdoor event provides fun activities and reimagines the street as recreational space for our community members in Crotona Park East.

Volunteers are welcome to stay for the whole event, but we ask that you sign up for a three hour shift: 9:00am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-3:00pm, and 3:00pm-6:00pm. Volunteers will receive refreshments and meals throughout the day! Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as you will be walking around and standing for long periods of time. If interested, please email Sarah Evers at severs@whedco.org or sign up here!
